Gümüşhane, a city in Turkey known for its mulberry production, sees an annual income of around 10 million lira from the sale of traditional products such as mulberry molasses and fruit pulp, made using local resources and traditional methods. These products have been marked geographically since 2004 and are highly valued for their rich mineral and vitamin content, particularly the molasses which is preferred by anemia patients. While these products are also industrialized by 36 companies, contributing 250 million liras annually, traditional producers like Ayşe Özdemir continue to prioritize organic production and the economic benefits it brings to the community.
