A survey by the Central Statistical Office reveals that farmers have a negative outlook on the economic situation of their farms for the first half of 2021 and the forecast for the rest of the year. The level of pessimism varies among different types of farms, management ages, and educations. The most pessimistic views are held by livestock farmers, especially those raising broilers and pigs, and producers of field vegetables and potatoes. Despite over 66% of farmers believing the demand for agricultural products is sufficient or meets their expectations, those growing field vegetables, rape, fodder crops, and raising slaughter cattle and poultry express the most dissatisfaction with the demand.
