Gyeongbuk Peaches Make First Pilot Export to Indonesia, Targeting Overseas Market with 'Mihwang and Johwang' Varieties

Gyeongbuk Agricultural Technology Administration jointly conducted the first trial export of premium early-ripening peaches 'Mihwang' and 'Johwang' to Indonesia on the 30th of last month at Samsungsan Farming Association in Cheongdo County, aiming to expand the domestic peach export market. 'Mihwang' and 'Johwang' are varieties developed by the Cheongdo Peach Research Institute of Gyeongbuk Agricultural Technology Administration. Mihwang ripens around late June, with a sugar content of over 11 Brix and excellent quality, while Johwang is a large-sized, high-quality early-ripening yellow peach that is harvested in early July, with a sugar content of 12 Brix and an average fruit weight of 250g. Through this export, Mihwang is expected to be sold at 2-3 times higher than the farm purchase price (3kg, around 20,000 won).
