[Guja-ryong Gu, Reporter for the Korea Farmers and Fishermen Newspaper] An ordinance for the development and support of major agricultural product production areas in Gyeongnam Province, including garlic and onions, is being established. A system foundation is being set up to actively support comprehensive management of production, distribution, and price stabilization, moving away from the previous management focused on designated notifications. The Gyeongnam Provincial Assembly's Agriculture, Ocean, and Fisheries Committee (Chair Baek Su-myeong) reviewed and decided on the "Ordinance on the Development and Support of Major Agricultural Product Production Areas in Gyeongsangnam-do" at the 1st session of the 427th temporary meeting of the Agriculture, Ocean, and Fisheries Committee held last 15th. This ordinance includes △ clarification of the definition and scope of application of major production areas according to the Act on Distribution and Price Stabilization of Agricultural, Forestry, and Fisheries Products △ establishment and implementation of a basic plan every five years and preparation of annual implementation plans △ major production areas.
