Gyeongnam Province announced that it has conducted on-site inspections and urgently supported an additional 30 million won in jellyfish purchase project funds in response to the continued massive jellyfish appearance in its maritime areas. On the 18th, Gyeongnam Province visited the fixed net fishing grounds in the Dupo maritime area of Samsanmyeon, Goseong-gun, to check the jellyfish occurrence status and response situation. While listening to the difficulties of fishermen at the site, they also discussed measures for jellyfish damage prevention, relief, and purchasing activities. Currently, jellyfish are massively appearing in the eastern maritime areas of Geoje City and the Jaran Bay maritime area of Goseong-gun, and Gyeongnam Province is proactively pursuing jellyfish relief and purchasing in consultation with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries even before issuing a jellyfish warning.
