South Korea's South Gyeongsang Province is projecting that fishery product exports will exceed the 2011 record of $244 million, with a projected total of $207 million from January to October. The main exports include oysters, fish cakes, pollack, and conger eels, with the majority going to Japan, China, and the USA. The province is supporting seafood exports through non-face-to-face marketing conversions and face-to-face business resumption this year. A total of 15 companies participated in promotional events in Vietnam, the USA, and China, resulting in significant exports. The province plans to invest $39.5 billion in three projects to boost the seafood industry and will hold a briefing in December to support local seafood processing companies in expanding export markets.
