Haidong City is taking comprehensive measures to ensure the sustainable and healthy development of animal husbandry during the winter and spring seasons, which are prone to snow disasters. The city is carefully organizing and deploying forage storage arrangements, adjusting the structure and increasing the planting area of forage grass, building projects to increase forage grass storage capacity, and strengthening guidance to increase forage reserves. Additionally, the city is mobilizing farmers for forage storage, strengthening supervision to ensure forage safety, and improving disaster resistance. Despite facing challenges such as low utilization rates of straw and corn stalk yellow silage processing, insufficient investment, and shortages of funds, the city is implementing measures to prevent disasters and protect livestock. These measures include strengthening organizational leadership, doing a good job in forage transfer and storage, accelerating the slaughter of livestock and the circulation of livestock products, reasonably using pastures and farmland forages, and improving the emergency plan and emergency response capability.
