Farmers in Hau Giang province have sowed nearly 3,300 hectares of sugarcane, with most of it concentrated in Phung Hiep district and Nga Bay city. They have already harvested around 1,900 hectares and sold the sugarcane to traders. The remaining sugarcane areas, which are over 10 months old, are about to be harvested, but the suspension of production at Phung Hiep Sugar Factory is causing concerns for the farmers as they might face difficulties in finding buyers for their sugarcane.
