Turkey: Hazelnut production started in Erbaa, Tokat

The quality of hazelnut produced in Erbaa district of Tokat is not comparable to the Black Sea provinces. In Erbaa, the only hazelnut production district of Tokat, the harvest is very productive this year. In 2015, 1600 farmers produce hazelnuts on an area of 30 thousand decares in the district, which was included in the hazelnut producing provinces with the decision of the Council of Ministers. This year's yield of hazelnuts, which are produced in different types and varieties in different lands from 215 to 1300 altitude in the district, has reached the top levels due to the favorable seasonal conditions. Gökal Town Mayor Osman Akbulut, in his statement, said that Gökal town is 52 kilometers away from the district and dominates the scattered Black Sea settlement, and therefore they mainly do hazelnut farming.
