Turkey's hazelnut exporters are targeting to achieve 340 thousand tons of exports in the current season, running from September 2021 to August 2022. This comes off the back of successful export seasons in 2020 and 2021, which saw the highest export figures in the republic's history. Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, sales have met expectations. The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, however, poses a risk to Turkey's hazelnut exports, its main market. The industry is also looking to expand into new markets like China, Arab countries, India, Brazil, and Mexico.
