This winter, the number of highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) cases has surpassed 30. The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters for Highly Pathogenic AI (Head Song Mi-ryeong, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries) announced on the 3rd that H5N1 highly pathogenic AI was confirmed positive at a laying hen farm in Jeungpyeong, North Chungcheong Province, and a duck farm in Naju, South Jeolla Province. These are the 29th and 30th cases in poultry farms nationwide during the 2025-2026 winter season.
