The article highlights a decrease in freight rates for panamaxes and handysizes vessels, while rates for coffers and barges remain stable. This trend is part of a seasonal pattern due to limited loading opportunities caused by low trading activity. Specifically, the rate for panamaxes transporting corn or wheat from Odessa to southern China has decreased by 3 USD/t, now at 36-37 USD/t. Similarly, the rate for handysizes transporting corn from Odessa to the east coast of Italy has decreased by 1 USD/t, now at 16-17 USD/t. However, the rate for barge transportation from Ukrainian Danube ports to the eastern coast of Italy remains stable at 27-29 USD/t.
