Honaz's famous date palm will now delight palates with its chips.

Honaz Municipality, which has attracted the attention of all of Turkey with its seed bank project, has now taken the lead with its work on paradise dates, a crop in which the district is a leader in production. Starting to produce date chips without any human intervention, the municipality will contribute both to the producers and to Honaz. Being the number one in Turkey in the production of dried dates, Honaz district of Denizli, with its dates turning into an export product, sees its planting areas expanding every year. Providing a livelihood for approximately 1,500 families, the dates are sent to both the domestic market and abroad. Honaz Municipality, which has been a leader for producers in the production of export cherries in the district and established a Local Seed Bank to protect 2,500 ancestor seeds, has signed an important project aimed at developing the date trade.
