Honey Exports Face Uncertainties with New US Tariff

According to the Agricultural Situation Bulletin released this Thursday (17th) by the Rural Economic Department (Deral), of the State Secretary of Agriculture and Supply of Paraná (Seab), the announcement of a 50% tariff on Brazilian products, to be applied by the United States starting August 1st, generates concern among exporters, especially in the honey sector. "The impact on the honey production chain can be significant," pointed out the bulletin. The United States is currently the main destination for Brazilian honey, representing 84.1% of the export volume in the first half of 2025. During this period, Brazil shipped 16,170 tons of the product to the North American market, with revenue of US$ 52.2 million. The tariff measure has already had practical repercussions.
