Honey from Bingöl is the first honey from Turkey registered in the European Union with a geographical indication.

Turkey's Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, İbrahim Yumaklı, participated in the first honey collection event in Bingöl, which is the first honey from Turkey registered in the European Union with a geographical indication. Yumaklı emphasized that beekeeping is one of the most important agricultural activities in Turkey and stated: "Bingöl honey will become a brand that will cross the borders of Turkey."
