Hungary's raspberry cultivation has seen a decline in area and stagnant yield, leading to insufficient domestic supply and the need for imports from countries like Spain, Italy, and South America. The total area for currants and blackberries has also decreased significantly due to unfavorable climatic conditions. As a result, raspberry prices have steeply increased, reaching up to 2800 HUF per kilogram. Despite these challenges, a farm in Rábapaty is successfully growing raspberries and strawberries without using chemicals. Berry prices are now 10-15% higher than last year.
