Horticulture Moves Over R$ 9 Billion in Paraná in 2024

The Gross Agricultural Production Value (VBP) of Paraná is estimated at R$ 188.3 billion for the year 2024. The projection is from the Basic Statistics Division of the Rural Economy Department (Deral), of the State Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply (Seab), and was released this Thursday (17) in the Agricultural Situation Bulletin. According to Deral, this value consolidates the strength of Paraná's agriculture, strongly based on grain, cereal, and animal protein production. Horticulture, although with a smaller participation, also contributes relevantly, representing 5.1% of the total gross revenue of the sector. Olericulture, the horticulture segment that encompasses vegetable cultivation, accounts for 3.5% of the state's VBP, with revenue of R$ 6.2 billion.
