Huize County in Yunnan Province has been focusing on comprehensive poverty alleviation strategies, including the establishment of combat teams, relocation, and the promotion of characteristic agricultural products. The county has found success with pomegranates, by providing income up to 20,000 yuan per mu (a traditional Chinese measure of land area). By developing unique industries and improving infrastructure, Huize has seen significant increases in per capita net income and employment opportunities. Relocation efforts have been key in addressing the issue of poverty, with the county having built 125 centralized resettlement sites and relocating 83,627 impoverished individuals. The county is now aiming to ensure stable and sustainable income for those out of poverty through continued industrial development and education.
