Hungary has reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic H5N1 bird flu at a duck farm in the northeast of the country, according to the World Organization for Animal Health. The virus was detected in Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg county and usually occurs during the fall and winter. Bird flu is transmitted through infected wild migratory birds or contaminated food, clothing, and equipment.
