Iberian pig prices have reached historic highs at the Salamanca and Extremadura Agricultural Markets, with prices being 18.2% and 17.4% higher than the same period last year respectively. The high prices are due to a lower supply of animals than demand, and new increases are expected. The current prices for animals for fattening and field fattening are 2.47/2.57 euros and 2.87/2.97 euros per kilogram live in Salamanca, and 29.21/30.41 and 32.91/34.16 euros per arroba in Extremadura.
