Ocucaje is ready to welcome the public to the XXXI Festival of the Menestra! From October 24 to November 8, the Ica district will showcase its cultural identity with the traditional cockfight, the exciting donkey derby, the emblematic straw threshing scenery inherited from ancestors, and the typical dishes contest. The festival will also feature presentations of folkloric dances, artistic and cultural activities that reflect the cheerful and hardworking spirit of the Ocucajíno people. This festivity is a pillar of the district's identity and each year brings together thousands of visitors from Ica and other regions of Peru. Laura Peña Valencia, mayor of the district, pointed out that the event seeks to keep the tradition alive, boost tourism, and strengthen the local economy.
