[Korea Farmers' Newspaper, Reporter Seo Sang-hyun] The policy seminar titled 'Seeking Response Strategies for the Domestic Kimchi and Horticulture Industries Due to the Surge in Imported Kimchi' was held on July 23 at the 2nd Consultation Room of the National Assembly's Members' Hall. This policy seminar was hosted by Representative Im Miae of the Democratic Party of Korea and jointly organized by the Korea Kimchi Association, the Korea Federation of Agricultural Marketing Cooperatives, the Korea Fresh Vegetable Cooperative Association, and the Korea Federation of Successor Agricultural Managers. Through this seminar, the current situation was highlighted where the domestic kimchi industry, as well as the horticulture industry supplying raw materials, is facing a crisis due to the surge in imported kimchi. Additionally, strategies to enhance the competitiveness of the kimchi and horticulture industries and to maintain the status of the kimchi leading nation were explored.
