Vietnam strictly controls the import and quarantine of poultry meat products, adhering to domestic laws and international agreements like the SPS/WTO Agreement. The import process involves a risk analysis, on-site inspection, agreement on import conditions, establishment registration, and quarantine at the border. Additionally, the Department of Animal Health conducts annual testing for antibiotic residues in imported poultry meat. Currently, no detected cases of residues exceeding safe limits have been reported in imported terrestrial animal foods in the past two years. The department also plans to review the food standards of countries exporting meat to Vietnam, especially Korea and Brazil.
