Russia's consumer protection agency, Rospotrebnadzor, has halted the import of fruits and vegetables from Turkey and Iran due to the discovery of pesticides banned in Russia. The ban includes several fruits and a portion of products from 33 producers in the two countries, leading to the seizure of around 60,000 tons of grapes and over 10,000 tons of pomegranates from Turkey. The agency has also suspended the import of certain products from China due to pesticide and GMO concerns. Despite these bans, the Ministry of Agriculture does not anticipate disruptions to the domestic market as the volume of banned goods is negligible.
