The report by Pro-Consulting on the dried vegetables market in Ukraine for the period 2018-2021 highlights a heavy reliance on imported supplies, with the market dependent on imports of dried cabbage, beets, carrots, onions, garlic, among other vegetables. Despite domestic production by 457 companies, particularly in dried peas and mushrooms, import penetration is significant, especially in dried onions. Major suppliers are southern countries like China, India, Iran, Turkey, and Uzbekistan, who use intensive growing techniques and stimulating drugs, resulting in lower production costs. New entrants in the market may face high production costs and issues with conditioned raw materials due to the wide variability of fresh vegetables grown in Ukraine.
