Imsil County, subtropical fruit 'Apple Mango' harvest in full swing

Imsil County, North Jeolla Province, has introduced subtropical fruit 'Apple Mango' to respond to climate change and rural aging, and as it enters its full harvest season, it is being noticed as a new source of income. Imsil County has created a 3,995 square meter subtropical fruit orchard since 2021, promoting a demonstration project for cultivating Apple Mango and Red Pear. Currently, three farms are cultivating Apple Mango, and one farm is cultivating Red Pear. Apple Mango produced in Imsil has high sugar content and rich aroma, receiving good consumer response. Particularly, it is significant that a stable production base has been established through research and technology dissemination despite the region's conditions of heavy snow and cold in winter.
