Despite the pandemic, Russia met its domestic food needs last year and achieved values of food safety in key areas. The country is expected to continue the positive dynamics of agricultural development, increasing the supply of agricultural products abroad. Russian exports exceeded $30 billion in 2020 and have exceeded $17 billion so far this year. The country also prioritizes the conservation of biological diversity and has formed a unique base of genetic resources in animal husbandry and crop production. The 11th Meeting of the BRICS Agriculture Ministers adopted the Action Plan for Cooperation of the BRICS Countries in Agriculture for 2021-2024, reflecting the key areas of cooperation in the agricultural sector.
