Spain's raw cow's milk deliveries to industries saw a slight increase of 0.9% in 2021, reaching 7.477 million tons, as per the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA). Despite a slight increase in the price paid to farmers, it remains below the production costs, currently at 0.364 euros/litre. The number of farmers with deliveries continued to decline, dropping to 11,424 in December from 12,079 in January. Organic milk's average price experienced a decrease in the summer but rose slightly in December to 0.480 euros/litre. In the February 1 auction, New Zealand cooperative Fonterra reported a 4.1% increase in the price index for dairy products.
