The dairy sector in Paraguay faced a challenging year due to adverse weather conditions and increased production costs, leading to higher prices and some farms closing. However, despite these challenges, production continued during the pandemic. Smuggling of dairy products from neighboring countries has increased, affecting local producers. The president of the Association of Milk Producers and Breeders of Dairy Breeds (APROLE), María Inés Berkemeyer, advised producers to analyze their production and make strategic decisions. She also noted that the increase in balanced prices led to better quality national production.
