In 2023, Chile emerged as the 13th largest market for Vietnamese tuna, with a 192% increase in imports of processed and canned products compared to 2022. This surge is attributed to Chile's low inflation and decreasing consumer price index, which have boosted consumption. The Chilean market's less stringent quality demands, compared to the US, Japan, and EU, and the existing free trade agreement with Vietnam, further enhance its potential as an export market for Vietnamese consumer goods.
