In Georgia, the additional duty on flour imports will be increased by 25%

The Georgian government has decided to increase the temporary import duty on wheat flour by 25% to support local producers. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Georgia Tengiz Nasaridze. "In recent months, a trend has emerged in the growth of flour imports, caused by unstable pricing and surplus harvests in the world. Taking this into account, we decided to increase the import duty on [1 ton] of flour by 50 lari (about $19.2 - TASS note), which in total will be 250 lari (about $96 - TASS note),” Nasaridze said following the results of the last government meeting.
