As reported to "Interfax" by the Association of Deep Processing Enterprises of Grain ("Soyuzkrakhmal"), the output of these products amounted to 208.53 thousand tons, which is 1.5% more than in the same period last year (205.49 thousand tons). Total production increased due to a 5% increase in the production of corn starch to 180.54 thousand tons compared to 172.04 thousand tons in the first half of the previous year. The production of potato starch—the main starch for the food industry—increased by 1% over six months to 6.33 thousand tons compared to 6.27 thousand tons a year earlier.
