In Kazakhstan, a scientific research project aimed at solving one of the systemic problems of the agro-industrial complex—reducing losses of cattle hides—is being implemented for the first time. The development of primary processing and storage technology for hides is being carried out by scientists from the Kazakh Research Institute of Processing and Food Industry. The project is based on the application of modern electrophysical methods, which allow for improving the quality of raw materials, increasing their storage life, and ensuring their involvement in industrial processing. As part of the research in 2025, more than 15 domestic and foreign technologies for primary processing and storage of cattle hides were analyzed. The most effective methods were identified as electrophysical methods, including ultrasonic and microwave processing, as well as vacuum and convective-vacuum drying. Their use allows for speeding up the preservation processes by 2–3 times, reducing energy ...
