In the first half of 2020, Kabardino-Balkaria (KBR) significantly surpassed its export goals, shipping over $17 million worth of agricultural products, nearly doubling the amount from the same period in 2019 and accounting for 87% of its annual target. The region exported a variety of products to 19 countries, including dairy and fermented milk products, poultry meat, confectionery, mineral water, fresh fruits, and corn hybrids seeds. The exports saw a notable increase in sweet carbonated drinks and confectionery. KBR's Minister of Agriculture, Khasan Sizhazhev, remains optimistic about the region's export potential and aims to expand the list of exporting countries and product ranges in the future, aligning with Russia's national project aimed at increasing export revenue.
