Sowing of winter grain crops in the Odesa region at late dates ensures a higher yield than spring grain crops. This year, about 70% of the area of winter wheat was sown late. Despite the fact that all permissible sowing dates for winter rapeseed have long ended, farms continued to sow it in hopes of favorable overwintering conditions. Over the last week of November, the area of the crop sown increased by 7.2 thousand hectares.
