Russian large enterprises produced 138 thousand tons of cereals in September, a decrease of 8% from the previous year, with the largest decline seen in rice production which decreased by 1.7 times to 25 thousand tons. The decrease in rice production is due to high carry-over stocks, a less favorable price situation, and the extension of the export ban until 2024. However, the production of other main cereals such as buckwheat, millet, and oatmeal is growing. Semolina and barley groats production has decreased slightly over 9 months, but pearl barley production has increased by 4.9%. Overall, cereal enterprises increased the production of all types of cereals by 2.6% over 9 months.
