Russian large enterprises produced 138 thousand tons of cereals in September, marking an 8% decrease from the previous year, with the largest decline seen in rice production, down by 1.7 times to 25 thousand tons due to high carry-over stocks, a less favorable price situation, and an extended export ban until 2024. Despite this, buckwheat and millet production saw growth, with buckwheat up by 1.6% and millet by 16.8%. Oatmeal production also increased by 5.6%, while semolina and barley groats production saw slight decreases. Pearl barley production grew by 4.9%, and corn grits production increased by 10.7%, but overall, cereal enterprises saw a 2.6% increase in production of all types of cereals over the first nine months, producing over 1 million tons.
