According to Rosstat, the growth rate of vegetable prices in Russia has slowed down from February 6 to 12, with cucumbers experiencing the highest increase at 28%. Overall, fruit and vegetable prices increased by 24.19% in 2023. However, consumer prices for eggs and chicken meat decreased by 1.8% and 2.5% respectively in January compared to December of the previous year. Buckwheat prices also dropped by 8.3% over the month, or 22% annually, due to a high harvest last year. Despite these decreases, inflation in Russia in January 2024 was 0.86%, higher than December's 0.73%.
