Consumer prices for food products in September 2025, as in August, decreased by 0.9% compared to the previous month, however, the overall inflation rate was 0.3% against -0.2% in August. The National Research Center "Institute of Agrarian Economics" noted that the continued decrease in food prices was mainly due to the reduction in prices of fruits (-11.8%) and vegetables (-10.6%), as well as eggs (-2.9%) and sugar (-1.5%), while other food products increased from 0.1% – for cheese and soft cheese to 2.1% – for sunflower oil. The recovery of the positive inflation value to the previous month, after deflation in July and August, was determined by the resumption of growth in consumer prices for clothing and footwear (+8.2%), education (+12.4%), as well as alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, restaurants and hotels (+1.2%), healthcare (+0.8%), and road passenger transport (+0.6%), noted the director of the institute, Yuriy Lupenko.
