The Association Speranța Con predicts that apple processing will be completed earlier than usual, around late March - early April, due to warmer temperatures leading to faster quality degradation of apples. As a result, two out of three apple concentrate factories may cease accepting apples this month. The total apple harvest processed is expected to be around 200-210 thousand tons, a significant decrease from previous years' 340-370 thousand tons. The decrease in apple concentrate production is attributed to a decrease in apple harvest, better quality apples being stored for sale, and uncertainty in the sale of concentrate in the summer-autumn of this year. Apple prices for spring are not expected to increase above 1.9-2 lei/kg ($0.10/kg).
