In the Altai Republic, preparations are underway for the spring field works.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Altai Republic, in 2026, the total sown area in the region will be 102.4 thousand hectares (at the level of last year). Of this, spring sowing will take place on 59.4 thousand hectares. Spring grain and legume crops are planned to be placed on 5.6 thousand hectares, annual grasses for forage purposes and silage crops on 52 thousand hectares, and perennial grasses of bare sowing on 2 thousand hectares. The area under potatoes in farms of all categories will be 0.04 thousand hectares, and under open-ground vegetables 0.01 thousand hectares. Given this structure of grain and forage crop sowing, 10.5 thousand tons of seeds are required. This year, thanks to the work of the region's seed production complex and government support in seed production, it is planned to bring the volume of grain crop seed production to 5.5 thousand tons.
