The Virus-Free Garlic Technology Transfer Group, consisting of 20 members, was formed in Chile to improve garlic yields by producing virus-free seed cloves. Led by the Institute of Agricultural Research (INIA Rayentué) and the Illustrious Municipality of Quinta de Tilcoco, the group will receive technology transfer to address the challenge of non-production of virus-free seed teeth, potentially improving crop yields and prices. INIA is a leading agri-food research, development, and innovation institution in Chile, executing around 400 projects annually across five strategic areas.
