The 29th Annual Conference of the China Dairy Industry Association and the 2023 China (International) Dairy Technology Expo was recently held in Nanchang, Jiangxi. The report by Song Kungang, the principle chairman of the association, highlighted a significant improvement in the raw milk surplus and an increase in national milk output. He stressed the importance of planning and reducing blind expansion in the dairy industry and suggested adopting European and Oceania's business models for sustainable growth. The quality of dairy products in China was acknowledged as excellent, with over 99.88% passing national inspections in 2022. The future of the Chinese dairy industry is expected to be driven by adult milk powder, special milk, and cheese, with a focus on diversifying milk types and cheese products. The conference underscored the need for innovation in dairy fat and plant-based dairy products, reflecting the industry's ongoing transformation and growth.
