In the first seven months of 2025, Vietnam's export of pepper to the United States decreased by 24% year-on-year.

The latest data from the Vietnam Pepper Association (VPSA) shows that in the first half of August 2025, Vietnamese enterprises exported approximately 11,000 tons of pepper, with an export value of 71.8 million USD. The export volume decreased by 0.2% compared to July, but due to the increase in export prices, the export value increased by 2.1%. The significant decline in exports to the United States is the main reason for the decrease in pepper exports. Despite the U.S. significantly reducing the quantity of pepper imported from Vietnam and increasing purchases from countries such as Indonesia and India, Vietnam remains the largest supplier of pepper to the U.S., accounting for 64.4% of the total U.S. pepper imports.
