Scientists are recording a shift in weather conditions, forecasting changes in crop area structure in the Kharkiv region, and comparing the current agricultural climate of the region to that of Odesa 25 years ago.

May in the Kharkiv region was cool. By the end of the month, due to the lack of rain, heat, and low humidity, dry winds were observed, which complicated the development of late crops. This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Hydrometeorological Center. On May 21-22, the average daily air temperature across the entire region crossed the +15°C mark, moving upward. This indicates the beginning of meteorological summer — at times close to the long-term average. Agrometeorological conditions for crop vegetation were predominantly satisfactory throughout most of the month. However, by the end of May, the situation became complicated: the absence of effective precipitation, high daytime temperatures, and low air humidity contributed to the appearance of dry wind phenomena.
