The largest share was held by pig farming: 7.8 thousand tons of production were obtained. According to Rosstat, in 2025, the production of livestock and poultry for slaughter (in live weight) in farms of all categories in the Kostroma region increased by 11.5% compared to the previous year and amounted to 20.2 thousand tons. The main share belonged to agricultural organizations – 79.6%. Here, 16.1 thousand tons of meat were obtained. Households produced 17.6%, or 3.6 thousand tons of livestock and poultry.
