Experts shared this information at the "Golden Autumn" agro-industrial exhibition. According to the company "Romir," cat food holds the largest share of the market at 84% of sales. Russia has already become a leader in the number of cats per capita. Dog food accounts for 16% of the market. On average, one family buys pet food 27 times a year. "Today, more than 61 million pets live in urban Russia—their number has grown by 35% over seven years. The pet food market reached a volume of 355 billion rubles over the last 12 months, making it one of the largest among FMCG categories," said Anastasia Sidorina, Client Relations Director of "Romir."
