The Zhambyl region in Kazakhstan has produced agricultural goods worth 332.6 billion tenge in the first 10 months of this year, as reported by the region's governor, Berdibek Saparbayev. Despite the economic crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, the region has seen a 7.8% increase in grain harvest, covering 817 thousand tons. The region is also a major producer of onions, accounting for 75% of Kazakhstan's total production. To diversify farming and promote food security, the region has expanded the sown area by 47 thousand hectares, totaling 735 thousand hectares. Efforts are being made to develop non-traditional crops and the food processing industry, with significant investments in large-scale projects such as a sugar plant, a French fries production plant, and a poultry farm.
