Last year's beet is experiencing a significant price increase in Ukraine due to a market shortage of local quality vegetables. Producers are selling beets at 25-33 UAH/kg ($1.04-1.26/kg), a 10% increase from the previous week and on average 36% higher than last year. This price hike is attributed to increased demand from wholesale companies and retail chains, and depleted stocks. In contrast, early vegetables such as potatoes and cabbage are seeing price drops, while onion and cucumber prices are rising due to a reduced supply.
