Ukrainians are complaining about the invasion of a dangerous pest—locusts, which is causing concern among ecologists and farmers. This was reported by the State Consumer Rights Protection Service. Such phenomena have been recorded, in particular, in the Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kherson regions. According to the agency, these regions are continuing measures aimed at eliminating outbreaks of migratory locusts (Locusta migratoria) and Egyptian locusts (Anacridium aegyptium). The Kushuhum urban council of the Zaporizhzhia district of the Zaporizhzhia region has introduced a special plant protection regime on an area of 21,600 hectares—until the complete elimination of locust outbreaks.
